Informal Reading & Spelling Vocabulary

How to use these tests:

  1. Bookmark this page, so you can return to it later.
  2. Print this page.
  3. Quiz the student by clearly pronouncing each word twice, then ask the student to spell the word aloud. Mark beside each word if the student got it right.
  4. Quiz the student again by showing him/her the list, and ask the student to pronounce each word slowly and clearly.
  5. Attempt and record a score for all lists on the page.
  6. When the quiz is complete, enter their scores into our Marking Computer
  7. Our Online Marking Computer will calculate the student's reading level, and create a report card which you can print out for reference and to track the student's progress.
